ABS Filament — high-temperature strength

Bambu Lab ABS 1.75 mm — engineering material for demanding parts

Bambu Lab ABS withstands 100°C+, impacts and abrasion. Requires heated bed (90–110°C) and enclosed chamber. Bambu Lab X1 and P1 are ideal with their factory enclosure and active temperature control.

Printed ABS can be sanded, painted and acetone-smoothed. Used in automotive, electronics and tooling. AMS compatible. Ships 24h.

FAQ

Why does ABS require a closed enclosure?

ABS shrinks more during cooling than PLA or PETG. Rapid cooling causes warping and layer splitting. A closed enclosure maintains stable temperature, eliminating these problems.

What is acetone smoothing for ABS?

Place the print in a sealed container with acetone vapour for a few minutes. The vapour fuses layer lines giving a smooth, glossy surface. Not possible with PLA or PETG.

Is ABS suitable for car interior parts?

Yes — ABS is the automotive standard for heat resistance (100°C+), impacts and abrasion. For higher UV resistance consider ASA.
