V-Slot Rail System
V-Slot Aluminum Profiles — the linear motion standard
V-Slot profiles are an open-source construction standard developed by OpenBuilds, specifically designed for linear motion. The distinctive V-shaped groove (6 mm) serves a dual purpose — it acts as a rail for V-Wheels and as a mounting slot for T-nuts. This means a single profile replaces a separate linear rail and structural frame, dramatically simplifying the construction of CNC machines, 3D printers, plotters and automation systems.
BSV-SLOT offers the full range of V-Slot cross-sections — from the compact 20×20 mm to the reinforced 20×80 mm. Every profile is black anodized, cut to length with ±0.5 mm tolerance and shipped in protective packaging. All dimensions are compatible with OpenBuilds accessories and the BSV ecosystem.
